Digital TV is here, and many households will need to upgrade their systems before the old analogue transmission are switched off in 2012.

The options for receiving digital TV are either a set-top box, or a new television! IF using a set top box, you'll need one for each TV in the house.

In many cases you won't need to change your rooftop aerial (despite what many unscrupulous 'experts' will tell you) - in general, if you are receiving TV3 off air at the moment, your aerial does NOT need to be replaced. There is no such thing as a 'digital aerial' - if the one you have is working now it will probably work into the future.

(There are some parts of the country however where the new digital transmissions are on different frequencies than the old analogue broadcasts - in these cases the aerial may need to be replaced).
